Different web sources offer different reasons for why we need God. Some say we need God because he fixes our broken lives sets us free from fear and oppression and corrects our ego and vision.
Others say we need God because we are made in his image we love and worship him, and we owe him our life and gratitude.However, some may not feel any need or interest to know God at all
The topic of why people believe in God is a complex one that has puzzled many for a long time. For most people in the world, it seems obvious that God exists, and they find it puzzling how anyone could not believe.
However, there was once a time when nobody believed in a god of any sort, and our evolutionary ancestors were all atheists until they found religion. So the question remains: why do people believe in God?
That is to say, humans not only believe they have agency, but they also believe others have agency as well.
We judge the actions of others depending on whether we deem them to be intentional or not.
Since humans are hypersensitive about other people’s agency, they also have a tendency to infer intersectionality in natural processes or inanimate objects.
Beliefs in water sprites, woodland spirits, specters, spooks, ghosts, and demons are ancient and observed in every culture around the world.
Humans tend to automatically detect agency in inanimate objects whenever the situation is unpredictable and out of our control. This kind of animistic thinking is a universal human trait.
Such thinking is common in children, and as adults, animistic thinking is shaped by the norms of our culture.
Animistic beliefs are also common in hunter-gatherer societies, but what they don’t have is organized religion.
Today, religious belief continues to be shaped by cognitive, motivational, and societal factors.
Analytical thinking styles are associated with lower levels of religious belief, while people who are higher in emotional intelligence tend to be more religious. Social isolation and facing death can also increase religious faith.
Belief in God increases when situations become uncontrollable, such as in the case of natural disasters. Another motivational factor is self-enhancement.

My Personal Thoughts
Without offending anyone this is clear my thinking about religion I have a great respect for believers I will never argue or discuss someone’s belief.
As a teenager my mother use to shout at me every bloody Sunday and to keep her happy I use to go to the church but once i left home I follow my belief.
Do I believe in God?> No there is no God specially the God they build the image on us since little children, I use to believe a God is an old man who sit above on the sky and watching all of us what are we doing and if we are doing wrong we ask for forgiveness.
I use to believe that but growing up and from experience every-time i look around I do not see God anywhere.
I can see volcano earthquakes, tsunamis killing thousands of innocent people and where is God to help?
What it breaks my heart is when I see children as young as 5 to 10 years old dying from a disease and it could be avoided if money and resources were in the right place those innocent souls they go too soon where the hell is God to save those souls.
If he is our father as the Bible want us to believe then he is a very very bad father he failed 100% to look after his children he loves us where is the love? not a sign how can I believe in someone whom I can not see I caravan not ask for help[ because so far he made it clear he does not give a fuck about us.
when I think about religion and Godf I see the faces of boys been abused for years and they destroy their future I see injustice corruption and a God who is so weak and tired he can not help himself not us.
When I read the Bible all I can read is short unfinished making no sense stories I am shocked we even allow them to fool us with the book
